Winter Shelter: Providing Warmth and Hotel Lodging to the Homeless

During the freezing winter months in the United States, exposure can be fatal for those without shelter. As part of our American outreach, Nkanu Global Foundation volunteers drive around seeking out homeless individuals in extreme cold weather. Instead of just offering blankets, we place them in comfortable hotels for two to three nights. This immediate emergency shelter provides them safety, warmth, and the opportunity to connect with local social services. "No one should freeze in the winter," says Dr. Patience Eze.
