About Our Foundation

Dedicated to bringing comfort, healthcare awareness, and basic necessities to underserved communities.

Who We Are

Nkanu Global Foundation is a registered 501(c) non-profit organization that is committed to providing Multi-Purpose Education Projects and health education support in the rural areas of Nigeria and underserved parts of America.

Our primary focus is the Three-in-one Primary School Chairs with Desks project for Primary School Children in the rural communities of Nigeria. In Nigeria, more than 70 percent of primary school students in public schools sit on the bare floor, broken blocks, or woven mats to learn because the schools lack desks and chairs.

These rural children, mostly from very poor families, are often left behind. Some place notebooks on each other's backs just to write. We aim to correct this. For only $120, we can produce and deliver a premium three-in-one wooden desk with a bench for three children, providing immediate comfort and allowing them to focus on learning.

Our Vision

To ensure that every child in the rural areas of Nigeria, starting from Enugu State, sits on a comfortable chair at school and has access to clean borehole water instead of traveling miles to fetch water before they go to school in the morning or when they return. We envision a society where no child is left behind in acquiring education because of poverty.

Our Mission

Empowering Children & Enriching Communities

“Our Mission is to promote healthcare awareness and provide some comfort to the rural Public School Children from poor families, who sit on the floor or broken blocks, or woven mats to learn, in the form of desks with chairs to enable these children to focus and effectively participate in class for a better future. We are dedicated to promoting healthcare awareness to enlighten communities with limited or no access about disease prevention.”

Our Multi-Purpose Interventions

We focus on solving critical infrastructure and awareness deficits in three core domains.

1. School Desks & Benches

In Nigeria, we build locally-sourced 3-in-1 desks. The gift of $120 produces and delivers a complete unit that sits three children comfortably, giving them a desk to write and a bench to sit.

2. Public Health Prevention

We believe that no one should die from a preventable disease. We host workshops (such as kidney disease prevention classes) to create health awareness for minority groups with limited healthcare access.

3. Winter Homeless Outreach

During harsh freezing winters in the US, our teams locate unsheltered homeless people on the streets and put them up in warm hotels for 2-3 nights to keep them safe, dry, and warm.
